....another Technique Tag!

with you a Technique Tag that I
created yesterday!!

This past weekend,
I had the pleasure of attending 
CKC ~ Lancaster, PA
with Cheryl Mezzetti
and working the Splash of Color booth.
What a WONDERFUL experience.
I came home TOTALLY INSPIRED!!

I had packed up a bag of creative goodies 
to bring along with me....
just in case we had some free time to create.
(which NEVER HAPPENED!!) 

So, as I was putting things away,
I decided to challenge myself to create with
only the contents of the bag.
There was no "STUFF" in my
bag so I did allow myself to pick
a few other Splash of Color products....
one texture,
one color of Silks
one package of Primary Elements
and one bottle of Precious Metal Effect Paint....

I chose...
Viva Colour ~ Amber Gold ~ Ferro
Luminarte ~ Honey Amber ~ Silks Acrylic Glaze
Luminarte ~ Emperor ~ Primary Elements
Viva Colour ~ Blackberry ~ Precious Metal Effect Paint

 I began by coating the vintage bingo card,
cut into a tag, with Honey Amber ~ Silks Acrylic Glaze.
Love how it changed the tone of the bingo card!!

I then began playing with the 3pk of Primary Elements ~ Emperor.
I mixed (not completely)
the Olive Vine ~ Primary Elements with a bit of
Viva Colour ~ Amber Gold ~ Ferro
and spread it through
a stencil.

While the Ferro was still damp,
I applied some of Plum Crazy ~ Primary Elements
with a #4 round paintbrush.
(Ferro is an adhesive while wet)

I then mixed a smidge of
Yellow Rose ~ Primary Elements
with Primary Elements ~ Clear Glaze Medium
and painted the chipboard frame.

Next, I mixed
Olive Vine ~ Primary Elements with
the Primary Elements ~ Clear Glaze Medium
to paint the diecut leaves.

Of course, I had to color a few flowers.

I began by spritzing the large flower with water,
then with a fan brush I applied
Blackeberry ~ Precious Metal Effect Paint to
the edges of the petals and sprized again with water.

I then mixed a bit of
Plum Crazy ~ Primary Elements with
a bit of Primary Elements ~ Clear Glaze Medium
and brushed it onto the flower.
Spraying at times with water to move/blend the colors.

If you look behind the flowers....
you will see a bit of vintage border paper
that I painted with the left over above mixture. 

Did you know that you could use Primary Elements is
soooo many different ways???

It's PLAY TIME.....

I was never so happy to hear those words in my head....
It has been a VERY BUSY month and I actually hadn't created
anything in ALMOST TWO WEEKS....
That'll make one go into withdrawal right there!!

So, I decided to pull out some of the PRIMARY ELEMENTS
I had recently acquired and PLAY.

BUT FIRST.....
I needed to create paint swatches,
mixing Primary Elements with Clear Glaze Medium,
so I could familiarize
myself with the colors....
Some I knew...others....not so much! 

Now, when the each paint swatch was complete....
I began brushing the excess into my art journal.

Can I just tell you....
I LOVE how the mixture applied
sooo nicely to my book page
and how well it got along with the
previously applied colors.

Colors....that should have muddied when applied over another
color....but instead created a BEAUTIFUL THIRD color.....
O the BEAUTY OF THIS PRODUCT!! 

 
When I had my pages saturated with color....
I dabbed on a bit of Gesso with bubble wrap
and added some
Viva Colour ~ Gold Precious Metal Effect Paint.

Then using a bunch of 'Tovers I had brought with me
I let my creativity wander.

I painted puzzle pieces...
Mini Pearl Daisies...
and Butterflies cut for
the Vintage Wings and Things Collage Sheet.

 

....along with any other embellie I could get my hands on.

I chose a quote....
"Every path hath a puddle"
to finish out my page....

AHHHHH....now that was a GOOOD MORNING!

Exploring my Creativity.....

Hi everyone.....Lynne Forsythe here.

I began an Art Journal to help explore my creativity.
And it truly stretches me because you have to stay
pretty FLAT....SOOO VERY HARD FOR ME!

I don't have any problems with color....
it's just where you go from there! 

The beauty of Silk Acrylic Glaze is that has little to no water in it
so when you use it on book pages....
they won't wrinkle!!

I painted on layers of Silks...
Apricot Nectar
Yellow Rose and
Stargazer.

....and through
a Mini Harlequin stencil.

I then smeared some Embossing Paste through
Mini Chickwire Reversed.

How cool is the Ephemera Bits Washi Sticker Tape??!?!
Kinda lovin' the stuff myself!!

Add a bit of Gold ~ Precious Metal Effects Paint
spritzed with water....
and watch the goodness move!!

This is where I get stuck....
So...I stepped away from my project.
That's when the inspiration hit!!

I cut hand drawn flowers from various Canvas Corp papers.

Pulled out some Twinkling H20's and began coloring.

I pulled apart a Petaloo flower and
painted on some Gold ~ Precious Metal Effects Paint
and added a vintage button as a center.

For the leaves, I used a Lovely Leaves Stencil
and a bit of Golden Green ~ Ferro Special Effect Paste. 

I created shadows by smearing the Pitt Big Brush Pens.

And there you have it....
I have to say I truly enjoyed this
creative discovery!

....A Different End!

my latest creation.

But can I say....my beginning thoughts for my tag...
are NOT HOW it ended up.

 In all truth....
I began creating this tag for another Design Team....
but I got lost (or found depending on how you look at it)
along the way!!

This began as a "Back to School" tag
and as you can see....that is NOT HOW IT ENDED UP!!

BUT....the journey sure was fun!!

I began by stamping on my tag and adding a bit of White UTEE.
I then brushed over the tag with a bit of Bolivian Blue Silks Acrylic Glaze.
Because I didn't want the color to stick to the UTEE
I spritzed it with a bit of water.

Then I let the COLORING BEGIN....
the leaves are colored using various
Twinkling H20's for shading purposes.

The flowers were all changed up a bit
by the additon of various Silks Acrylic Glaze Colors
to there petals!

Don't you just love the Melissa Frances Resin Embellishment??!?!?

It was painted with various Silks Acrylic Glazes
and accented with Champagne ~ German Glitter. 

I sure do hope you enjoyed my "rabbit trail" creation!

Getting Inky with May Arts ~ Lynne Forsythe

Howdy everyone.....Welcome to the Splash of Color/May Arts Hop.

Here is my creation using 
TONS OF Luminarte Silks Acrylic Glaze and
A piece of May Arts ~ Frayed Flowers!!
(I was supposed to use
the BEAUTIFUL May Arts eyelet Ribbon....
but I was unable to locate it in my
CHA disaster area!!!) 

But to be completely honest, i used it on my CHA project that i shipped to Vegas!  So i created a different project using some of their other beautiful ribbons!

 
I had created some hand colored paper by placing blobs
of Various Luminarte Silks Acrylic Glazes on a piece of Linen Paper.

Which I then spritz with water, to create a color flow.
Then I crumpled the piece of paper in my hand. 

I squiggled a bit of Viva Colour Gold ~ Pearl Pen on the paper,
then blobbed on a bit of Viva Colour Champagne ~ German Glitter. 

I cut the dried paper into 4"x6" pieces.

As my creations was just a menagerie of color...
 I chose to color my May Arts Frayed Floral Ribbon with
by dapping on a few different Silks...
with my finger.

Love Struck
Bolivian Blue
Iris Petal
Mediterranean Blue
Raspberry Wine and
a bit of Baby's Breath Primary Elements 
mixed with a smidge of 
Primary Elements ~ Clear Glaze Medium.

Then I spritzed the whole flower with water!

OH THE BEAUTY.

 

I then used some of the ohhhh soooo cool
Paper Goods ~ Vintage Girls
and
Number Washi ~ Sticker Sheet

I pulled out my sewing machine for a bit of added flavor!

I accented the Frayed Flower with a bit of vintage lace and 
some White Paper Cord....
and YES I LEFT IT WHITE!!

Snazzy Sneakers.....

Howdy Peeps....Lynne here.

I wanted to share with you a pair of sneakers I made....
 

 

And the instructions on how I made them!!

Tape off the rubber sole and side of shoes with painters tape. 

Tear up a sheet of dictionary paper.
Apply “damp” dictionary paper randomly to shoes
with Multi Medium. Dry.
 

 

Using Template, apply 2 colors 
(shown Mediterranean Blue and Pretty Peridot) 
of Silk Acrylic Glaze randomly on shoe, 
allowing each application to dry between layers.
 

Ink “Cooped up Stamp” with Archival Ink
and stamp randomly on shoes. 
 

Brayer 3rd color of Silk Acrylic Glaze (shown Spiced Pumpkin) 
on Craft Mat. Dab stamp into Glaze and stamp randomly 
on shoes (5 times per shoe). Dry. Dot flowers with Pearl Pen. Dry.
 

Spritz left over paint on Craft Mat with
water and dip Seam Binding in liquid. Dry.
Tie in a large loopy bow.
Tie a large Loopy bow with Black Cord and vintage lace.
 

 

Using Tattered Floral Die, cut (2) large Velvet Flowers.
Apply Multi Medium to back of Velvet flowers
while drying crumple flowers. 

 

Create “Flower Cluster” by layering:

Colored Loopy Bow

Vintage Lace Blow

Black Velvet Flower

Large Mesh Flower

Small Mesh Flower

Small Textured Flower
 

 
Adhere layers together with hot glue gun.
Adhere “Flower Cluster” to sneaker.
Tuck black cording loopy bow at front of “Flower Cluster”.
All adhered with hot glue gun.

 Remove painters tape. If desired, paint sides of shoe soles.

Coloring with Silk Acrylic Glaze....

Howdy y'all.....Lynne here!!

I had been asked to participate in a team up with
Petaloo and Splash of Color....

Here is my creation! 

Out of the wide variety of ways to color available,
I chose to use the Silks Acrylic Glaze
from Splash of Color.  

I chose to use my periennial garden as the
inspiration for my creative piece....
I don't know about your garden....
but mine is full of all kinds of colors!!

What better way to accent my flower cluster
then with the CMC Chipboard ~ Gates
and the "little birds" from the Birdhouse with Birds
CMC Chipboard which I painted
with Viva Colour Gold ~ Precious Metal Effects Paint!! 

I have created a video tutorial
on my creative process and 
how I colored my flowers.

NYC or BUST!!!

with my "NYC ARTSY" canvas bag
I created for Winter CHA ~ 2013. 

I designed and created the canvas bag
from Canvas Corp ~ Canvas.
and embellished with the New York Destination Papers
Along with.....LOTS of Viva Colour Pearl Pens!!! 

I began by image transfering various images from
the New York Destination Collection
to different size pieces of Canvas Corp ~ Canvas.

I chose to use Pearl Pens to color the canvas bag and embellies
because they are fully washable when dry!!
What an AWESOME FEATURE!!!

SOOOO....I dipped the caps into it,
stamped with it,
colored the Petaloo Canvas Flowers with it...
and I found that if I spritzed it with
water or my favorite Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist
when freshly applied....
they could be easily manipulated.
.....and it splatters REALLY WELL, too!!! 

A good example is the matching wallet I made.

I love that it is even dimensional!!!

....a TECHNIQUE it is!!!

As many of you know....
I am ALL ABOUT TECHNIQUES...
I love trying new things...
Sometimes they WORK...
Sometimes they don't.

But the technique I want to share today
WORKS.....and I have used it many
times since.

I colored the Viva Colour Stone Effect Paste ~ Sand/Gold
with Luminarte Primary Elements ~ Olive Vine....
and applied it to the chipboard. 

 

I created a short video tutorial on how I went 
about this process....

I LOVE creating ATC's...
just to see how much
CREATIVE goodness I can fit
on a 2.5" x 3.5" space.

I decided to try an experiement....
I took one of each of the
Splash of Color ATC's
Corrugated Kraft, White and Black
along with the Birch ATC.

I lined them up and created each one exactly the same....
I pulled out my basket of Silks ~ Acrylic Glaze.
Now....this product is a bit transparent in nature
so I wanted to see how it would respond
on each of the different colored backgrounds.

Here is the White Corrugated ATC...
and yes those are mini puzzle pieces...
adhered with Black Gesso
and colored with Viva Colour Inka Gold ~ Orange. 
See that amazing sparkle from the
Viva Colour German Glitter ~ Gold. 

The easiest to tell was the Birch...
I just love how the Sikl Acrylic Glaze
flowed with the wood grain. 

Here is the Black Corrugated ATC.
hint hint....I dabbed on a pile of
Viva Colour Modeling Cream ~ Champagne
and used it as an adhesive to hold down the mesh. 

Last but not least,
the Kraft Corrugated ATC.

I will be adhering these little darlings 
to the face of a few cards...
and sending them out as THANK YOU's to
my friends!!
