Original Letterpress Print

 I took a class at my local art center to make a poster. After a lot of consideration I thought the above phrase described me well. I love using a lot of paint!

I glued it onto a canvas and had two decorating goals: make it look more vintage and add some elements to attract attention. Did you know you can add distressing with our paint? I used a lot of Luminarte's Nutmeg twinkling H2O. Since it is watercolor paint, it is easy to vary the intensity of brown for cool effects. You can also get Luminarte's acrylic glaze, Nutmeg Silk! And for vintage shimmer, nothing beats the Luminarte Silk in Emporer Gold.

To make my poster stick out of a crowd, I have painted flowers and lovely ladies. May Arts makes these beautiful flowers on a ribbon that are thristy for color. I dipped my paint brush in Radiant Rain bottles and coaxed the colors to mix with some water. 

The final touch, Vintage Beach Babes!

I had fun playing with my punches and ultrafine glitter.... it's a new adventure for me to create a card not using one single stamp!!! I enjoyed the challenge and am happy with this cute card I created... I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! (Note: when doing this challenge you of course CAN use stamps, I just chose not to )

March Card Sketch and February Winner

The card sketch for this month, by Lori Gentile, reminds us that Spring is on the way with all of it's lovely blooms and butterfies. Why not create a card with a special sentiment and send it to someone just to brighten their day?

Lori created this thank you card to send to her Mother. Her Mother spends a lot of time with her grandchildren and for that, Lori is very grateful. There is something very precious about receiving a handwritten thank you card in the mail.

Remember we are running both our Card and Sketch layouts through the last day in April - so you have plenty of time to create a project and upload into our gallery!

What do you do with all that left over Christmas paper you ask?  Well, use it for Valentines Day.  The main color for Valentine's Day is red and it just so happens red is also a main color used for Christmas.  I had some IOD Night Divine paper, which was just a Christmas looking pattern and turned it into a card for Valentine's Day.

February Card Sketch and January winner!!

New Gingham Cardstock!

If you are like me, you love cardstock when creating layouts or cards!

So when Creative Imagination's sent me their new gingham cardstock papers I quickly created some cards!  

This fun Spring Cardstock Gingham Collection will be arriving at stores this February - just in time for Spring!   And these new colors all match most of our new CHA Summer 2011 collections!  The ten double sided cardstock papers include a small and large print gingham on each side - great for scrapbooks and cards!

We are starting out our New Year with another challenge - our Card Sketch Giveaway!

Wow! This month has certainly flown by - we have been so busy that we failed to post our September Layout sketch winner!
