May Arts and Splash of Color ATC's

 

Hi Everyone! Lynn K. here with a few ATC cards I created using Splash of Color's Luminarte and the gorgeous May Arts Ribbons.

For the first two cards I painted Silks Acrylic paint to a stamp and stamped it on the background. I also accented the word stickers with the silks. I love the May Arts ribbon as an accent to the bottom of the ATC. I painted the ribbon with a touch of Twinkling H2o in Heavenly to give it some shimmer. For a final sparkle I  dabbed the flower centers with Viva Colour Glass Glitter ...

 

For the third ATC I kept it more clean and kept the ribbon plain. It is so pretty on it's own as well!!

Dabbling in Mixed Media with Heather!

 Have you had the luck to take a class from Cheryl? She taught at my local scrapbooking store just a few months ago. It was a blast! The format was open and allowed us students to play with paints and products according to our whims.

 On the day of the class, I picked up a discounted calendar with an Audrey Hepburn theme. Here is the mini book I made.

Luminarte Twinkling H20's are watercolor paints with a beautiful shimmer of mica!  I like to use them sometimes with my Luminarte Radiant Rain!  I just dip my brush into the paint and paint with them.

"Play Ball" ATC by Shelley Hamilton

Hi,  everybody!  Shelley, here, with a baseball ATC!

 

I started this ATC with a piece of paper from the Christine Adolf Extreme Sports All Baseball collection!  I stamped on it, then matted it on white.  I then stamped the image on white paper, and painted it with several beautiful colors of Silks, and glued it down.

I painted canvas flowers with Silks, attached them to the card with brads, then used baseball epoxy stickers on top of those.

The "Play Ball" sticker at the top is from the 5"x12" sticker sheet.

Spring fever....and some colorful ATC's!

Yep.....as I'm enduring this cold weather, I am having severe Spring fever.  I need warmth and I need color.  These ATC cards and the beautiful Luminarte Acrylic Silks were what I needed to temporarily take me out of the Winter blahs. 

On this ATC card, I just used the ATC collections and some beautiful silk paints to add color to all the embellishments included in the ATC card kit.  The stickers in the ATC collections make the perfect movement to this card, especially in the bright yellow.

I mixed up the color a little on this ATC card:

I went with the softer Silk colors on this card but it still screams Spring to me with the bird cage and the bird.

I LOVE creating ATC's...
just to see how much
CREATIVE goodness I can fit
on a 2.5" x 3.5" space.

I decided to try an experiement....
I took one of each of the
Splash of Color ATC's
Corrugated Kraft, White and Black
along with the Birch ATC.

I lined them up and created each one exactly the same....
I pulled out my basket of Silks ~ Acrylic Glaze.
Now....this product is a bit transparent in nature
so I wanted to see how it would respond
on each of the different colored backgrounds.

Here is the White Corrugated ATC...
and yes those are mini puzzle pieces...
adhered with Black Gesso
and colored with Viva Colour Inka Gold ~ Orange. 
See that amazing sparkle from the
Viva Colour German Glitter ~ Gold. 

The easiest to tell was the Birch...
I just love how the Sikl Acrylic Glaze
flowed with the wood grain. 

Here is the Black Corrugated ATC.
hint hint....I dabbed on a pile of
Viva Colour Modeling Cream ~ Champagne
and used it as an adhesive to hold down the mesh. 

Last but not least,
the Kraft Corrugated ATC.

I will be adhering these little darlings 
to the face of a few cards...
and sending them out as THANK YOU's to
my friends!!

ATC's - Getting Easier!

I have to admit, ATC's are growing on me. At first I struggled with the small size (I figured ATC stood for ...  A Tough Challenge LOL!) and now I find it a great way to use bits and pieces leftover from other projects. I saved scraps from the last few projects I did for CHA Winter 2013. My first ATC was pretty simple. I layered two pieces of paper from Splash of Color's Cherish Collection by Christine Adolph. I cut a flower from one of the diecut sticker sheets, secured it with a bit of Washi Tape, added a sentiment, splashed some gesso on it and was done ...

My second ATC has a bit more layering. I used pieces from IOD's Cotswald Manor. My first two layers are background pieces from IOD's Devotion ATC Pack. Next, I tore a corrugated ATC background in half diagonally, painted it with gesso and used that as my next layer, I fussy cut some bits from a Cotswald Manor sticker sheet, layered them together, added a title and done ...

My final ATC is Holiday Themed. I wanted to create something for Easter and how easy is that when you used Splash of Color's Signature Collection ~ Easter Wishes. I started with a background ATC from the Loolah ATC Pack. I then layered a bright yellow piece from the Easter Wishes Collection, text paper from my stash and a ripped piece of corrugated ATC which I rubbed with Viva Colour Inka Gold in Steel Blue. I also rubbed the Inka Gold on the papers edges to add more color. I then cut an egg image from the collection, added Viva Colour German Glitter in Champagne to the flower centers.

New Marah Johnson Le Jardin Collection!

Le Jardin by Marah Johnson
is a fun, funky collection with great colors and images.

 I chose to get a bit Artsy with my layout using this collection.

There was alot of mixing, spritzing,
image transfers and vintage lacegoing on!!

I cut the banner pieces from the Le Jardin paper and
image transfered them onto pieces of canvas,
along with 3 different Butterflies.

Then the color mixing began!!

Viva Colour ~ Haematite and Lava Red ~ Inka Gold
I used this mixture in a watered down state to dip the banner
pieces in, to color the Mini Pearl Daises.

In a slighty thicker state,  
I removed blobs of each Inka Gold with my Palette Knife,
and mixed in a wee bit of water 
then spread it through the Floral Stencil.

I did this process 4 times to create the three dimensional flower,
each layer cut out slightly smaller than the last

I also created a Funky card with this collection.

I cut out various images from the Seedlings paper and 
accented them with Inka Gold. 

The background paper was created by dipping the backside of the
Dragonfly paper in the left over watered down
Inka Gold mixture from my layout.

Snow Globe Christmas ATC

Jules here with a fun idea for your holiday ATCs.  With a few simple steps and some glittery 'snow', you can create a snow globe and pop your ATC!

These are not only great for ATC swaps and exchanges but also make fun package decorations or you can add a piece of ribbon and hang them from your holiday tree.

First, I selected one of the many lovely ATC cards by Creative Imaginations and placed a sticker from the IOD Rejoice collection in the lower right hand corner.  I added more green with Luminarte's Twinkling H20s in Lucky Apple and more red to the bird with Luminarte's Twinkling H20s in Dreams Bloom. 

Once these had dried, I took a pinch of artificial snow and added placed it loose in the middle of the sticker.  I used a round, plastic piece of packaging and glued that over the center of the image.  Once the round plastic piece had dried in place, I attached the trim and the piece of blue silk ribbon.  Using the beautiful Viva Colour glitter pen, I outlined the sticker and edged parts of the ribbon, adding the phrasing last.

Voila, a sparkly, glittery snow globe ATC.

Winter Song ATC card

Good morning!  This is Alicia and I am excited to share a pretty ATC card with you today.  I really love the color combination of the Winter Song collection so I decided to play around with some ATC goodies.

 

I started with the IOD Loolah ATC cards  and used some Luminarte Twinkling H20's (Kiwi and Vavoom) to paint the background with the glazes.  I took a piece of lavender netting material and gave my card extra texture with it.    I then added some of the Winter Song embellishments to decorate my card.  The ATC came together so quickly and I really like how wintery it came out.

A Holiday ATC

 Hello Everyone! Hope your Holiday preparations are going well - the countdown is on! I  took full advantage of the season to create a Holiday ATC. I combined a few collections to create my card. I started with a card and a frame from the Antique collection. I added foam tape to the frame to add dimension. I then added a sweet angel die cut shape from the Rejoice Die cut Shapes pack.

I added a transparency title form the Preposterous Transparency die cut shapes.

I then added a gold Petaloo flower from a rose leaf spray and some gorgeous gold shimmering twine.

For a final shimmery touch I painted the edge of the frame with Luminarte silks Acrylic Glaze in Emperor's Gold and splattered some paint on the card as well.
