Hello and Happy Monday! My name is Tina Walker and I will be sharing a bit about myself and my art with y'all this week. I am so excited to be able to share in my passion for creating with my Splash of Color friends and I hope you enjoy my projects this week.
So who am I?
I have been a crafter my entire life. When I was a little girl, I remember many summers with my Grandma at the ceramic studio, prepping and painting our latest works of art. I was bitten by the creating bug at a very early age, and it has never slowed down.
I dabbled in scrapbooking approximately 15 years ago and would create in bursts of artistic energy, but it wasn't until 4 years ago when I really started to be 'obsessed' with Scrapbooking. I have been blessed to have been published in Somerset Memories, Artful Blogging, Scrapbook Trends, and Creating Keepsakes.
My love for creating has now opened the door to Mixed Media, and I must admit, I am hooked. I tend to lose interest quickly when creating one type of project over and over, so Mixed Media is the perfect match for me. I consider myself a craft (art) chameleon and really enjoy mixing up my projects.
I am a working mom, working outside the home. My children are grown, so much of my inspiration comes from my two French bulldogs, Moose & Flikka. They have quite the reputation in the scrapbook world. I currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah, but am an Mid West girl by heart. (Go Buckeyes!)
In addition to my personal art projects, which can be found on my blog, A Dog's Life, I also own Frog Dog Studio, a monthly Mixed Media kit club. I believe that anyone can create art and my kits provide video and photo tutorials to make creating art fun and easy. I believe that Mixed Media is the window to the soul and it is the basis for all self expression.
Before I leave you today, I want to share a project I created with Cheryl while I was in California during CHA. Cheryl taught us how to create an Art Journal cover full of texture and dimension, with plaster and wax. In addition, we used lots of amazing Splash of Color products. This is one of those projects you just want to touch. I wish someone would invent 'touch a vision' for our screens. ;)
On top of our dried plaster, I layered several colors of LuminArte Silks Acrylic Glazes, Twinkling H2O's, and Primary Elements. I love the richness and depth of color you acheive when using these products. The work beautifully together and the inspiration possibiites are endless.
I hope you enjoyed this peek and please stop back each day this week for more project shares.
Thank you for stopping by! Happy Creating!
Tina
Wow! I can see this will be a great week of projects! That's awesome! I love the texture and also wish we could touch it.

I understand the need to mix things up! This is a very cool cover. One that has all kinds of cool nooks and crannies. I love how it is almost monotone! Colorful things aren't always multi colored things and this is a beautiful example. Can't wait to see what else you got going on!
