Hello and Happy Wednesday!
Tina here today and I am back with another project share.
Today, I am sharing an Art Journal page created with the one of a kind – LuminArte Twinkling H2O’s. Twinks, as they are commonly referred by those who love them, are incredible water color paints that are vibrant and full of yummy shimmer. They last FOR.E.VER and they will quickly become of your go-to creating products.
To create the background of my Art Journal page, I started by liberally applying white gesso. I wanted some texture from the gesso to show, so I left my ‘brush’ marks (I often use an old credit card to spread gesso) visible. Once the gesso was dry, I applied Mango Freeze, part of the Summer Fun Petite 6 pack kit to my background.
To create the ‘drips’, I applied (very wet) Royal Satin to the edge of the page and spritzed with water. I repeated this on the opposite edge of my page. I did the same technique with more of the Mango Freeze. When the drips were to my liking, I let the background dry completely.
Using a stencil as a guide, I drew oblong shapes randomly to my page. I doodled inside each shape and colored them with more of the beautiful colors from the Summer Fun Petite set. In addition I used Montana markers for more hints of color. I love how the shimmer from the Twinkling H2O’s look with the opaque, matte of the Montana markers.
To finish my Art Journal page, I added several doodled circles along the drips and added my journaling, ‘A work of art, is the unique result of a unique temperament – Oscar Wilde’.
The richness of color and the graphic design of the doodles really combine well.
I hope you enjoyed my project today. Please stop back again tomorrow with another project, ATC style.
Thank you for stopping by.
