Splash of Color Blog: Guest Designer Kimberly Whitten!

Hi Everyone! I am so excited to share my projects with you today. Cheryl Mezzetti, thank you for the invitation!

My friends call me Krafty Kimmie because if it doesn't move, it will probably get altered or painted! I love to make pretty things and I love Luminarte paints! I have my own small crafty business. I work at an elementary school as a substitute and I spend my Sundays working at The Inspiration Station. Debby, our wonderful leader, provided the wine corks and the inspiration for the Ornaments. Almost all of the items I used here were purchased at the Inspiration Station.

I purchased the new Luminarte Primary Elements at The Papercraft Clubhouse. If your store doesn't have these beautiful new paints you can purchase them right on the Splash of Color website!

I am having a blast playing with the sparkly vivid Luminarte and Viva Colour paints! I have been busy decorating wood gift tags and wine corks with Viva Colour Pearl Modeling Cream and Ferro Special Effects Paste.

Now comes the best part! Mix the Viva Colour modeling cream with Lumiarte Primary Elements and OH MY.........it is like finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! Seriously, you mix one, two and even three colors with the Modeling Cream and Ferro and you never know what you will get! Total FUN! I stamped the image with Staz On.

The front of the gift taq must be decorated too! Splash of Color offers amazing Artist Trading Card packets that are perfect for such a project. Finish off the tag with a light spray of Luminarte Ice Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist.

Wrap your gift box, add some pretty ribbons, attach your tag and you have a beautiful presentation suitable for any occasion.

I made these door hangers using Luminarte Twinkling H20's, my favorite watercolors!

Apply gesso to a wood door hanger. Then cover the gesso with Golden Absorbent Ground (white). I like to use the absorbent ground because it makes the surface "watercolor friendly". Then I stamped with Staz On. The poinsetta stamp is by Stampendous and the chapel scene is by Stampscapes. Paint with the Luminarte twinkling H2O's and seal with Krylon Matte Finish.
