Shelley Hamilton, here, to share my project with you!
Here is my canvas using the Frog Dog Mixed Media Kit.
I began with the Tim Holtz fabric pieces cut into fourths with pinking shears. I glued these down in a pattern I was happy with, then painted the middle portion of the canvas with the Luminarte Acrylic Silks in Carmen.
I used the Prima stamps to make some patterns on the green banner pieces. I then used lettters on the banner pieces, and pop-dotted them to the page, and put them together like they were hanging on a piece of twine.
I used butttons on each end of these hangings.
I painted the Tim Holtz tree with Luminarte Silk Acrylic Glaze ~ Fern. It made it a beautiful color, and then I touched it up with a bit of the Carmen. I finished off the tree with a few ornaments and a couple of packages made with tiny kraft tags. I used the tinsel from the kit on the tree, also.
In a few places around the canvas, I used a snowflake stencil and the Viva Colour ~ Modelng Cream in Pearl.
I cut out a few of the images from the kit, and placed them at the bottom of the canvas, using a bit of the red netting in the corner of each.
I really hope you guys enjoyed how I used the Frog Dog Studio December Mixed Media Kit and the Splash of Color products! I know I loved using them, and I ejoyed sharing! Have fun with the blog hop! ~Shelley

LOVE Shelley's canvas! It is the epitome of Christmas! This will surely become a treasured family heirloom to be brought out every Christmas for generations to come! So many beautiful details! I could sit and look at it for hours ad keep finding new things! The Silks sound like such a wonderful medium to use! If they are half as good as everything I have heard then they are out of this world INCREDIBLE! I can't wait till I can get some so I can try them out for myself! TFS!

I am just beginning to play in this mixed media land of fun! I mostly made cards with stamps, ink and a few embellishments. What a whole new world of fun I am finding!

Question: did you cut the tree in half, or is it the full tree? Also, if you did cut it, how did you do it? sharon dot gullikson at gmail dot com

What a festive canvas! I was also intrigued with how you used the tree in a more 2 dimensional fashion on your piece.
