Hey scrappers, Donna here, and happy to welcome you to another day of our twelve days of gift giving with Creative Imaginations, Faber Castell and Xyron!!! And remember, there are prizes involved, so don’t forget to check out both the Xyron and Faber Castell’s blogs for more gift inspiration as well as more chances to win! And today also brings another winner - Robin L "Love the idea! I just do something similar and attach it to a mason jar filled with cookie mix. Maybe a Starbucks GC inside. Please email me your address to [email protected].
I love the various pretty packages under the tree at Chrismas time, so for this gift giving blog hop, I decided to make a few gift giving bags of my own…..these were such fun to create and I’m sure, will be fun to place presents in and give to my special friends during the holiday season..
I created these gift bags using Creative Imaginations' 6 x 6 Gingham Paper Pad, Holly Jolly Die Cut Shapes, Ragamuffin 6 x 6 paper pad, and Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist Solar Gold, Faber Castell Metallic Gelato, Gold , a Xyron Mega Tape Runner and a regular brown, cone coffee filter. Yes - a coffee filter!
My first step to decorating the bags was tearing the coffee filter into pieces and then misting the pieces with the Luminarte Radiant Rain Solor Gold Mist. I misted heavily, so the sparlky gold couldn't be missed! I then set them aside to dry. Next, I chose various pieces of the Holly Jolly tags and colored them with Faber Castell gold metallic gelato, sprayed a bit of water on them and then blended the gelato with my fingertip. I then set them aside to dry.
Next up, I cut my various patterned papers and did a bit of stitching on one (1) paper strip for each bag. By this time, my sparkly gold coffee filter pieces were dray and I adhered them to the top and bottom of each larger piece of patterned paper and adhered to the gift bag. Next, I layered the stitched paper strips, the various tags and ribbons, some twine and buttons and once I was happy with placement, adhered all to the bags.
I adhered a bit of paper confetti, and completed the bags by running some ribbon through boshers and then attached those to the bag handles with twine.
The end result?
Thanks for stopping by!!!
