Hi there everyone! My name is Cheiron Brandon and I am happy to be sharing some cards with you today that I have made from Real Wood paper.
This is my first time over on the Creative Imaginations blog, so I thought I would tell you a little bit about me. I live in New Jersey, work in downtown Manhattan, and occasionally teach classes at The Ink Pad in NYC. I have been stamping and making cards for about seven years now, and try to make a few each night when I have time. You can see more of my creations over on my blog.
I love to play along with card challenges on different blogs, and decided to use some of this fabulous Real Wood Paper for a challenge card I made a while back. I first used the paper in a technique class that I took with the extremely talented Jenn Shurkus. This paper is really easy to cut with your paper trimmer, and I love to use it on cards since it is something you just don't see everyday.
Here is a card I made for a fall challenge where I used Distress Stains to color strips of the Real Wood Paper, then cut it into small squares and stacked them using foam dots.
Since it is December 1st, I thought it would only be fair to show you a Winter card made with Real Wood Paper as well. For this piece of wood paper, I embossed it with a Sizzix Embossing Folder (another trick learned in class) and painted it with Mediterranean Luminarte Twinkling H2Os and went over it in places wth some Heavenly Luminarte Twinkling H2Os to make it look frosty. It is a perfect background for my snowflakes!
You can see it a little closer here:
Thanks to Creative Imaginations for having me on the blog today! I hope you enjoyed my post and I'll be back again this month to share another project with you.
Other supplies I used:
Fall Card
May Arts Twine
Ranger Distress Stains
Paper Smooches Stamp from Sentiment Sampler Set
Fiskars Oakey Dokey punch
Winter Card
Hero Arts Stamp from Holiday Saying Set
MFT Snowflakes Dies & Label Die
May Arts Ribbon
Of course love the fall card, but I am head over heels in LOVE with the teal snowflake card (of course)! Wicked awesome Cheiron!!! Xoxo
