Joanne Sharpe is back with this Vibrant, Bold, and Beautiful technique for all your creations! Sit back and enjoy Joanne's "Color Stories" with the Luminarte palette.
If you are little familiar with my art work, you know that I have a great passion for color. My art journals radiate bold, bright, vibrant energizing color. What a better product to use than Luminarte Twinkling H20's and Radiant Rains! Each tint and hue bringing light and life to my pages.
Here's a fun way to showcase the Luminarte palette and use "color families" to create coordinating colorful accents and embellishments. Use all the variations of one specific color in a technique. I decorate my art journal pages with textures that come from the organic flow of these shimmering products.
If at times your creativity needs a jump start, try freely painting a pile of background pages with Twinks and Radiant Rains. For this journal project, I sprayed, spritzed, stenciled and painted color families on sheets of heavy white card stock and let them dry. Using these papers I then tear, cut, punch or die cut elements to adorn the pages as illustrated below:
"Playing with Pinks":
I used Pink Grapefruit, Ginger Flower, Coral Berry and Hot Cinnamon with my stencils.
I then made collage pieces from all the pinky red papers…
…then pasted them randomly on this journal page with some writing and doodles. Since I like to frequent my journal pages, they are never really "finished". I am always going back and adding things as the creative spirit moves me!
"Groovin' with Greens":
Love the variations of greens and used Key Lime, Kiwi, Mallard and Guatelmalan, painted on with a brush and also sprayed through a stencil.
The green collage pieces on this page lent itself to stems and leaves sprouting off the page.
A closer image you can see the great variations and shimmer….
Isn't that a fabulous way to add interest to your surfaces? Whether it's a journal page or background for a card, the shimmer and shine of Luminarte is one of my absolute favorites. Explore, experiment and play with the Twinkling H20's color families to brighten your projects that are "artfully you"!
I'll be back here this Friday finishing my "color stories" with "Beauty in Blues" page and some more finished journal pages with my Luminarte palettes!
