Hi, my name is Pam Sandy, and I live in lower western Michigan with my hubby Ken, and our 4 dogs. I have two adult children, ages 28 and 24, and three of the cutest grand-babies imaginable, ages 3, 2, and 3 months. Although I have been a crafter all my life, I began scrapbooking in 1997 after I saw a friend doing creative things with pictures and paper and thought, "that looks like loads of fun"! I love the way scrapping provides me with a inventive way to remember and share events, people, and things in my life. I would describe my scrappy style as fairly linear with lots of color, sparkle, and texture. I really have a hard time leaving my pages flat. :) I love stitching on my pages since I am a quilter and sewer. I actually started sewing when I was nine years old and have been doing so ever since. I love blingy embellies, beads, fabric, paint, ink, textural items, color, color, color, and lots of various sized pics and layers.
One of my favorite things about Luminarte products is the beautiful variety of gorgeous colors and the SPARKLE! :) Sometimes I like to grab a bunch of odds and ends out of my stash and coat them using the Radiant Rain Daubers. Once they are dry I save them until the perfect project comes along. It helps me quickly put together things when I don't have to clean up between colors, or wait for anything to dry. Plus, I find it relaxing to work on different little pieces.
I co-teach a Scrapbooking as Art class at DePaul's School For New learning in Chicago in May and December and have been doing so for over three years. I have been fortunate enough to be published in various ezines including Scrapbook News and Review, ScrapStreet, and Scrap'N'Art, as well as on several design teams, including Zutter.
The project shown is one of the many mini albums I have made with my Bind-It-All. I used some of the fabulous Radiant Rain Color Concentrate Daubers for this project (lots of quick color and sparkle in a jiffy). My other hobbies, besides scrapping, mini album, and card making include mixed media and ATCs (Artist Trade Cards), stamping, sewing, and quilting.
I love to paint on all types of items, including wooden furniture, picture frames, paper mache items and more. I enjoy using twinks and the Radiant Rain Daubers and Mists when I create ATCs because I can get intense color, as well as sparkle and shine. Since ATCs are small, in my opinion they also need to be interesting or eye catching! The shimmer is perfect to accent things on small projects like ATCs, as well as on larger projects. I love to create art quilts and small quilted items like table runners and placemats, and I have plans for a few projects using fabric and Luminarte projects, so stay tuned for those! I have made a lot of different quilts for family members and friends over the years, and I like to make my own patterns when I have time. I use a lot of beads in projects I create too, be it fabric or scrapping related and I think the shimmery sparkly Luminarte products provide a perfect complement to these creations.
I enjoy doing decoupage projects as well, and the twinks are PERFECT for adding accent shimmer. I love to dabble in many different crafts too. For instance, I used to make porcelain dolls and doll clothes when my daughter was little. Currently I design a lot of my own tote and quilt patterns, and sew for my grandchildren, as well as have an etsy shop Ala Pamala with my daughter. A few other interests I have are gardening, cooking, traveling, camping, volunteering, and riding on my husband's Harley, or spending time with family and friends. I also work in the Ambassador and Customer Service office of a large hospital. Basically I love to stay busy. I just turned 50 this week, and my wonderful family threw me a fabulous surprise birthday party. I have enough photos of that event to stay busy creating projects and scrapping for a month. Can't wait to break out the twinks and go to town! I look forward to creating with you. I wish you a joyful and creative day!
