I love Steampunk style. The term "Steampunk" refers to a fantasy world of Victorian, industrial, steam-powered, mechanical decor. This year I decided to punk it up. Enough admiring the look and time to start creating my own pieces.
An easy go-to for Steampunk is gears. I liked the gears just glued on these big fabric flowers. But when I added the Viva Colour Precious Metal Effects paint, WOW! Below I used the Silver and the burlap started looking like wire mesh! It didn't need very much paint to create this effect.
Here is the Viva Colour Precious Metal Effects Turquoise which still brings a metal look, but has rich color. I liked keeping it messy!
The Viva Colour Precious Metal Effects silver looks good on the black canvas too. I love high contrast and it is easy to achieve on black when you have an intesely metallic paint.
This is a more even coverage of the Viva Colour Precious Metal Effects Turquoise. It looks so good with the vintage yellow-brown hue of the flower center (clocks are very Steampunk too!).
Finally, why should silver have all the fun? Here is the Viva Colour Precious Metal Effects Copper.
Try these flowers, they are so fast and easy! I'm going to put them on a journal cover, or on a purse. Just a tip: give your brush a good cleaning because those metal pigments really want to stick. They are so sticky that I will be sure to try Viva Colour Precious Metal Effects paint on plastic, glass and metal surfaces.
Thanks for following my creative adventure and I hope you enjoy creating! -heather
