Day12 of of our Twelve Days of Christmas!

Good morning everybody.  This is Alicia, and I'm sharing a few ornaments I made for my kids' Christmas tree.  I was cleaning out my scrap room the other day and I started to throw away some of my empty ribbon spools and thought they would make some easy, cute ornaments.   All I did was take the Renee Lindgren Sweets for Santa collection and covered the spools, added a fun ribbon, and embellished them with the stickers and die cuts in the collection.  These came together so quickly. 

This Sweets for Santa collection makes the cutest Christmas projects.  I just adored the gingerbread men and women, all the sweets, and the fabulous Love theme.  So next time you go to throw a ribbon spool away, remember how easy it is to make ornaments with them!

Day Eleven of our Twelve Days of Christmas

Happy Holidays Everyone, Lynn here to share my project for our 12 days of Christmas! I hope you are enjoying all the great ideas from the team here at CI. I've been on a huge canvas kick lately. I'm in L O V E with all the mixed media products out there and I really enjoy gettin' messy! This canvas can be displayed all winter and would make a great gift. I used Christine Adolph's Winter Song Collection. The purples, greens and silvers are GORGEOUS in this line. The canvas is 8x8 so it can settle in nicely anywhere in your home. The background was created with Winter Song paper, paint, stamps and rub-ons. I created the tree with a rolled paper technique and used CI Existencil Expressions in the sky ... you can seen the snowfake image on the left and the cute reindeer image on the right ...

I used Ice Twinkling H20's to highlight the birds, branches on the tree and the alpha. I also sprayed the completed canvas with Radiant Rain Ice to add even more gorgeous glimmer. Here are some close-ups ...

Day Ten of our Twelve Days of Christmas

We also invited Designer, Sarah Mullanix to join us during our Twelve days of Christmas! Today she shares a gorgeous layout!

Hello, I'm Sarah Mullanix and I've been scrapbooking for 15 years now. I live in central Indiana with my husband of 16 years, our 3 children (Becca 15, Emmy 11, and Carter 3), and our yellow lab Bodey. I love to create on a daily basis if at all possible, and I'm drawn to a variety of colors and styles. My scrappy desk is definitely my happy place!

Today, I would love to share with you a Christmas layout that I created using the Creative Imaginations Dear Santa collection along with a few bits and pieces of pattern paper from the A to Z and IOD collections as well. I really love how easily I can mix and match collections! I used photos of my son, Carter, from his second Christmas, and embellished the layout with punches, buttons, ribbon, and pop dotted the cardstock stickers to add dimension. I kept the design of this layout fairly clean and simple so that the photos and products would be showcased. I also love to use smaller photos as accents in order to add to the design, and also to better tell the story for my layout.

Day Nine of our Twelve Days of Christmas

Hello everyone! Happy Holidays, I hope everyone is taking some moments to enjoy this busy time... and just take it all in. I have a fun little gift item for you today, with a twist. I live on Cape Cod, and most people only think of Summer when they think of the cape. When I first moved here 8 years ago I didn't think of visiting the beach in the winter, I hate being cold.. and it just didn't come to mind. Now it is something I look forward to, it's quiet, and has a totally different feel to it. The ocean looks different, acts differently and I love it almost as much as the Summer time ;) 

I created this fun little frame using some of the IOD Beach Cottage collection, along with some other nautical embellishments I had hanging around. 

I created this beachy winter scene using glitter, snowflake punches and inks. I love how it turned out, and can't wait to put this on my desk at work. The picture is one I took with my Hipstamatic App on my iphone, it is of Barrier Beach in Hyannisport. 

How ironic is it, while creating this in my studio we got our first snow of the season?! Here are a couple pics of the snow, and my kitty Mister Harley, checking it all out. The good thing is it will all be melted before I know it!

Day EIGHT of our 12 Days of Christmas!

Happy Holidays everyone!  Today I want to share a holiday gift I made for my grandmother this year.  At age 91 she is by far the most difficult person on my list to buy for.  She has everything she needs, and swears there is nothing that she wants or honestly that she doesn't already have.  I figured a handmade gift would be a welcome surprise to anything I could find at a department store, and it would remind her that she is loved every day of the year when she comes through her front door:

For this "Welcome" sign, I started with a page from our Bare Elements Conrad Ring Book since it was just the right size for what I had in mind.  I dressed it up with a few of my favorite Creative Imaginations papers and embellishments, including some fun Luminarte elements on the chipboard frame and paper flowers:

It all fell into place so nicely, and it's a gift I am definately excited to give this year!

Day Seven of Our Twelve Days of Christmas - more teacher gift ideas!

Shelley, here, with another teacher's gift idea!  This time, for Macy's teacher, Mrs. Williams.

For this project, begin with a simple 6"x6" book with only a few pages in it.  On the cover, I used Samantha Walker's A to Z Collection - ABC Stripe and the sticker sheet.  A also used a Maya Road wooden bingo piece, a stick pin, and some trim!

For this page, I used Writing Paper, and Macy wrote her a little note(using her best handwriting, of course)!

On this page, I papered with School Toss, and made a pocket with ABC Stripe.  Then, I cut the cards out from Flashcards, and stapled a little piece of ribbon to the corner of each.  I put a picture of Macy on one of them.  Macy loved that idea!

Here, I papered with Cursive, and matted with Schoolhouse.  For the embellishment, I used a sticker that I pop-dotted to the page with Maya Road zipper trim!

Here, I papered with School Toss, and matted with Writing Paper.  For the embellishment, I just used a sticker and a small piece of ruler ribbon along with a small red paper bag.  Along the edge of the page, I used a strip of Schoolhouse and folded it back and forth to make a ribbon-looking piece.

On the left page, I papered with Cursive.  I used stickers from the sticker sheet to edge the page, and for the embellishment at the bottom.  Simple, but sweet!  For the right page, I used Cursive paper, and I embellished with stickers, a stick pin, and some ribbon and tulle trim.

For the back, I papered with ABC's and used stickers for a little gradeschool banner!  What could be more fun!Here's hoping that Mrs. Williams likes her gift!

Day Seven of our Twelve Days of Christmas

Teacher Gifts!!!

Shelley, here again!  For this project, I designed a cute project my son, Evan's(my 9 yr old son) teachers.  It is a small book that perfectly houses wallet-sized photos.  Since Evan is going to give it to her, his picture is on the front.  My vision for it, is that she gets a photo from each of her students, and places these inside.  It will be a perfect way to remember her students from this year.  I punched a hole in the top-left-hand corner, and made it into a Christmas ornament.  This way, she can retrieve it every year for fond memories of this year's class!

It is a small book that I found at a craft store.  I cut out a rectangular hole in the front of it, and placed Evan's picture behind.  I colored the front of the book with Luminarte Radiant Concentrate Dauber in Olive Vine.  This product comes in a dauber, so coloring was fun and easy!  I used the same product in Hot Cinnamon for the back cover.  For the spine of the book, I used Luminarte Twinkling H2O's in Sunflower(on of my favorites!).  I painted this on with a paintbrush.  I also kept the book closed and painted the pages.  This color sparkles and sparkles--making any project a special one.

The school stickers I used are from Samantha Walker's A-Z school paper line.  It is fabu, and I can see many school books and projects coming from it!!  On the front cover, I also used a Maya Road wooden bingo piece and trim, and some seam binding that I colored with the Luminarte Grande 10 gram Sunflower H2O.  Being able to match paint used on a project and ribbon is awesome...just use white or off-white seam binding, and color as much as you like.  You will love the results.  It also gives the seam-binding a little bit of stiffness, which makes it look great!  Twine and some rule-like ribbon finish off the front!

Evan wrote Mrs. Turner a little note wishing her a Merry Christmas!  Isn't he sweet?

At several places in this little book, I painted again with the Sunflower--simply couldn't help myself, and also used some of the A-Z stickers.  It turned out really cute!

Just another page that I colored.  On this one, I used the Olive vine first, then went over it with the Sunflower.  It is so shine and beautiful!  Maybe Mrs. Turner will put the picture of her 2nd favorite student here!  ha!

Here is the back of the little book.  I used several stickers from A-Z and a found item to finish it off!

Day Five of our 12 days of Christmas

Hello, this is Eva here, wanted to wish you a happy Holiday Season with another fun project that is perfect for the season to give or get as a gift.  We all can use a journal for 2012, so I thought I would make one of my own.  I have a super busy jam packed 2012 planned for myself in a lot of ways and I know this journal/notebook will keep me on track.

I used a store bought composition book by Mead, really a very plain looking one, and I thought Marah Johnson's Monarch Travel line would dress it up nicely, so all the products used on it are from that line, and of course I couldn't help myself and just had to paint with Luminarte, too. Here is what I came up with.

Doesn't this look so wonderful?  I love Marah's foiled papers, as they really lend so nicely to paint with Luminarte.  I also used a couple of My Favorite Things Die-namics and the pretty punched border is by Martha Stewart.  What I love about the Monarch Travel line is that it comes with beautiful quote stickers and alphabet stickers that you can work in cards, layout, or other projects linke mine.  Let me show you a closeup picture, so you can see more of the details.

Day Four of our Twelve Days of Christmas

 "Dear Santa" Stocking Album!  Designer, Shelley Hamilton, is back to show you one of her Christmas projects!

This one is a fun stocking album using the gorgeous Dear Santa line by Barb Tourtillotte!  The album is by Heart of Texas Studio.  For the front, I used Monarch Allegro paintable paper, and I painted it with Luminarte Radiant Concentrate Daubers in Olive Vine.  Using the daubers is a lot of fun, especially when you see your project come to life with vivid colors!  I used Lucky Dark Red Polka Dot Felt for the top of the stocking.  Ol' St. Nick is from the Die Cut packages from Dear Santa collection.  I used a bit of Glossy Accents on Santa's cheeks to bring him to life a bit!  I added Stickles and Spirit Red Velvet Brads and some pretty trim by Maya Road to complete this page.

For this page, I used Monarch Creme Engraved Foil paper and Luminarte Radiant Concentrate, in Olive Vine for the bottom, and Liminarte Radiant Concentrate in Hot Cinnamon for the top.  I them used the sticker sheet and pop dots for the ornaments.  The Happy Holiday embellishment is from the Die Cut package. 

I originally covered this page with Glad Tidings.  Then, as a mat, I painted Monarch Creme Engraved Foil paper in three different colors...Luminarte Radiant Concentrate in Olive Vine and Hot Cinnamon(daubers), and Luminarte Twinkling H2Os in Sunflower to create this wonderful mat!  The sides are from the 12"x12" sticker sheet, and so is the choo-choo train!  There is a tulle bow under the train.

For this page, I used Poinsettia and Stocking Stripe, along with some stickers, pop dots, and some Stickles.


For this page, I used Glad Tidings and Poinsettia for the background paper and the mat.  At the top of the boot, I used some of the leftoverMonarch Allegro painted with Olive Vine, as mentioned earlier.  I took some tiny Christmas garland, together with the stocking stickers and pop dots to complete the top of this page.  The bottom has been adorned with stickers and pop dots!

This page is papered with Poinsettia.  I cut out an additional Poinsettia and pop-dotted it over the original one to create some dimension(I also used a bit of Stickles).  I used a stencil from the Romance Stencil Kit and Luminarte Radiant Rain in Olive Vine to create the soft frame for the photo.  I used a sticker, a little ribbon trim and some Stickles for the top of the page.


The paper for the bottom of this page is Seasons Greetings.  The top is Stocking Stripe(this part uses the ornaments hanging).  I cut out several of the ornaments and pop-dotted them over the paper for the three-dimension effect.  I curled up part of the top paper, then used a piece of almost see-through lace underneath.  I painted the lace with Luminarte Twinkling H2O's in Sunflower!  The journaling piece is from the sticker sheet and I cut the sleigh out from Seasons Greetings.  To embellish the sleigh, I used more of the Lucky Dark Red Polka Dot Felt and one of the Spirit Red Velvet Brads.

The back page of the stocking is papered with Stocking Stripe and Seasons Greetings.  I used a sticker frame, and then pop-dotted the card with the birds from Seasons Greetings.

On the edge of all of the stocking pages, i painted with Luminarte Twinkling H2Os in Sunflower.  I had never done this before, but I will definitely be doing it again.  It added such shine and any that bled over onto the page just made everything better!  I hope you like this album!
