Froggie Frolic!

FrogthankyouRecently while looking at some blogs, I came across this adorable card made with Debbie Mumm's Froggie Frolic Collection.  The designer, Mary shared with me her inspiration behind the creation of this card.  "I do not care for frogs". Whether they are real frogs, pictures of them, stamps or papers, I just do not like frogs.  But when I was at my local store, Scrappin Soul Sisters last week I saw the most adorable looking frog paper and cardstock stickers!  I instantly saw myself making a card using the new line, appropriately titled Froggie Frolic designed by Debbie Mumm.  I like this set so much that I asked Jackie, the owner to please save me a few more sheets of the product.  Surely, I must have a photo of one of hte kids holding a frog.  What a great scrap page this line would make using these sweet frogs.   This adorable collection is perfect for cards, scrapbook layouts or altered books.  How is that for someone who hated frogs!"

Mary and her family reside in beautiful New Hampshire.  Although starting out eight years ago in the scrapbooking side of the industry, Mary branched out into staping about three years ago.  She attended a few classes at a local stamp store and immediately knew she wanted to learn more....Although her style is often noted for it's simple elegance, there is always a touch of whimsy just around the corner and you never know when she will show that side of her designs!  Paying special attention to detail is what set's Mary's designs apart.  When asked what three word's described her as a designer, "Simple, quiet and meticulous" was her reply.  Be sure to check out Mary's Blog and be ready to be inspired!

Sneak Peek - Art Warehouse

With little more than a week until Summer CHA Show, we are excited to release a few sneak peeks of some of our new lines!  First up, Art Warehouse!  Here is what Danelle Johnson said about her newest lines:

I have such an urge right now to play with my photos and create some projects.  I am a bit surprised that the thought of fall seems just a little bit enticing and even more so the thought of photos from the fall.  I love summer and really don't want to rush it, but fall is really just a great time of the year.

Most of my Summer Art Warehouse releases are seasonal in some way.  For the first time I have a school collection that is somewhat eclectic, in that it is a mix of a lot of things.   Parts of the line has some typical Art Warehouse flair and then other pieces are not so.  I am personally looking forward to mixing it all up and catching up on my school albums for the girls.  With kids ages 5 and 9, some of the collection is very much appealing to them.  It does make me reminisce also about the years I spent as a teacher.  With August just around the corner, school is not far off here in the Midwest....hard to believe.  I look forward to it, yet I don't want it to come....go figure!

Here is a glimpse at the collection and some SUPER inspiring projects.Schoolpreview4_2 Schoolpreview1_2Schoolpreview2 Schoolpreview5 Schoolpreview3Schoolpreviewpapers21Awteacherlunchbox1 Backtoschoolcover Backtoschoolinsidepages Img_4258revise Schoolribbonplaque Schoolribbonplaque1closeup Friendshangingstarfar

Busted!

If you're anything like me, you get really excited, and I mean really excited, when you find the perfect scrapbook products for a photo you may have taken several months ago.  You've held off scrapping these photos because you haven't come up with just the right products.  That recently happened to me.  When I saw the new Signature Busted! Collection, I knew immediately that this line was going to be a popular collection in my home.  The "Solitary Confinement" transparency with its jail theme and bars was going to be perfect for a photo I had taken of my little dog, Roo.

Okay, so I may have mentioned before that my sweet dog with the cute little face can be rather naughty at times.  In reality, she is pretty much incorrigible most of the time but we love her and continue to try to teach her manners.  It seems to be a never ending battle.  Roo loves to dig in the yard.  She adores chewing on the sprinklers so that they no longer "sprinkle" the lawn but instead form geysers, spraying water straight up into the air.  Another favorite activity involved shredding newspapers into thousands of tiny little pieces.  But Roo's all-time favorite thing to do is to steal our possessions and then run out the back door tearing all over the yard with them in her mouth.  It's great fun to be a puppy you know! When she was younger, we would barricade Roo in the kitchen with baby gates at both entrances when we weren't able to provide constant supervision.  On one such occasion, I was able to photograph Roo as she attempted her prison break.

Solitary_confinement Don't be fooled by those sad little eyes.  She is a hardened criminal that deserves to do her time.

Creative Lifestyle!

Chipboardbookcelebratesm_2With the Fourth of July this weekend, my summer pictures are piling up.  After a month of camps and ball games, I'm looking forward to some "everyday" pictures like what we'll be doing this holiday weekend.  This little mini book is one of the new Creative Cafe Lifestyle products available now in stores.  What a perfect way to quickly scrapbook the holiday without a lot of effort and preparation, yet the final result is just as cute.  These books come in 6 colors in this design and another 6 colors in a different design.  Perfect for just adding photos and a little embellishment!

My 5 year old LOVES these little books and right now she is thrilled when she finds that I've filled one with pictures of her.  She carries it around the house and brings it in the car, usually in her purse of choice for the day.  I am looking forward to filling this one up with photos of the upcoming holiday.  Let's hope it doesn't include any rain or a slew of mosquitoes.

Here are a few other ideas for using this same book

Fourth of July

Recently I began the daunting task of sorting through thousands of photos stored on my home computer from the past four years. I was shocked to learn that i have nearly 30,000 photos on my computer and none of these were backed up onto a reliable long term storage system.

It was fun looking through the past years of birthdays, vacations and family events.  Being a Scrapbooker, I began printing out many of my favorites and started scrapbooking!  So naturally when I came across this older photo of Olivia and Nicholas from a previous Fourth of July Family event, I knew right away which papers I would be using. The new Helen Dardik Patriotic Collection collection was just the right feel I was looking for.  I love the whimsical and fun papers and embellishments.  I added the Hearts D-mensions chipboard covered with the Helen Dardik papers to add dimension. In addition to Helen Dardick and the Hearts D-mensions, I used stickers from the Creative Cafe Spirit line and Art Warehouse Pride Collection.
