Holey cardstock

Batman!  If you have not yet seen the new Holey Cardstock created by Samantha Walker, you are in for a real treat.  There are four distinct designs available for this cardstock and each contains it's very own special cut-out pattern.  From ocean swirls, lacy hearts, elegant flowers and leaves to simple dots, this is a beautiful way to add dimension to your pagees.  And all four designs come in six different colors!

This new dimension in cardstock can be used in whole as a full sheet, layered over another color of cardstock or patterned paper.  It can be cut and specific pieces used on your pages.  A particularly fun technique is to fill in random sections on the back of the cardstock holes with many different colors of cardstock.  The dot pattern lends itself to many, many design possibilities.  Why not try running ribbons through the holes or fill them with brads?  The Swirl pattern is prefect for scrapping beach, pool or water sports pages.

The Creative Imaginations design team was treated with to several sheets of the New Holey Cardstock.  Check out their designs and the inspiration behind their projects.  We would love to see your projects or give us your thoughts on this new product!

Cibabyboyholeycardstock Tammy Gray:  "My niece just had her second baby boy.  The boys are only a year apart in age, almost to the day.  She has her hands full of baby boys at the moment.  There is no way she will have time to scrap their photos so I made her a pre-made page to start her off for her new little one!"  Tammy used a fun technique on the "Dot" holey cardstock by adding little doodling within the dots.

Supplies:

Jen Davis:  "Since the theme of my layout was "PLAY" I wanted to use something bright, fun and colorful, pulling in some of the colors from the photo of my daughter playing wiht toys {her toys providing some inspiration for what products I chose for this layout.}  Combining the Yellow Flower Holey Cardstock along with the bright Pink Dot Holey cardstock seemed playful to me and provided the perfect backdrop for the photo of my daughter Zoey playing.  Throwing in the contrasting colored journaling strips just added a bit of interest!"Ci158

Cheryl Mezzetti:  When I took this photo of my niece Olivia i knew that when I scrapbooked this photo i wanted to keep it simple.  The beautiful airy, lacy feel of the White flower Holey cardstock was a perfect choice.  I cut out some of the flowers from the Red Holey cardstock and layered over the white cardstock.  For the leaves, I used the Parakeet Pizzazzill Dot cardstock, tracing and glueing the paper on the back side.

Supplies:

Sw_ocean_page_3 Cheryl Mezzetti:  Samantha Walkers adorable new collection called Seashore coupled with the swirly pattern of the white holey cardstock was the perfect choice for this layout of my niece, Olivia surfing this past Summer at the beach.  I simply cut out some of the swirls twice layering them over the patterned papers to give the project a three dimensional wave effect!

Stayce DeWid: "The colors of the Allison Connors Beach Days Collection were my inspiration.  When I saw the collection I knew exactly the photo I wanted to use.  The warm Summer colors made me feel like I was back at the beach.  As my children become older It gets harder and harder to get them all together, so these moments are cherished!"

Supplies:

Beach_holey_cardstock_lo_1 Patty Lennon: "As soon as I saw the Swirled Holey Cardstock, I kew it would be perfect for beach photos.  Followign the pattern of the swirls, I cut a section of the white swirl Holey Cardstock and lined the backside with light blue color to resemble the ocean waves.  I tucked the photo into the waves of the Holey cardstock and included beach themed products to give the page an ocean feel.

Linda Auclair "My photos of my daughter were taken on Mother's Day after she and her sister had surprised me with a wonderful "breakfast in bed" and some handmade gifts.  My journaling expresses my gratitude for having such wonderful and thoughtful children.  I used the blue Holey Cardstock with white cardstock underneath to "echo" her T-shirt and tank top outfit that she wore in the photo.  I added the Renae's House Aubrey Chipboard and eye candy crystals to dress up the layout a bit."

Army Men "Footlocker"

Do your boys like to play "Army Men?" My son went through a phase of being totally fascinated with anything military - tanks, airplanes and soldiers.  I created the "Army Footlocker" chest with his collection in mind.  I think he kept his "guys" in a showbox, but he would have been very happy with a storage option like this!  As we approach Memorial Day, and remember the men and women who have served our great nation, why not celebrate their service in your scrapbooks and paper crafting?  Creative Imaginations has collections for each brand of our Armed Services:  Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy.  I would like to thank our servicemen and women past and present and their familes for all they have done to keep our country safe.  God bless the USA!

Candles & Cake Collection

The new Candles and Cake Collection has significant meaning for Artist Danelle Johnson.  After almost losing her youngest to a pre-mature birth several years ago, every birthday in the Johnson house is a "Celebration of Life." The sentiment written on the transparency included in this collection is a beautiful reflection of Danelle's feelings.  Visit your local store to see more of the Candles and Cake collection or visit our website.

Sam's Kitchen

Samantha Walker loves her kitchen!  Samantha recently shared her inspiration behind the collection.  "I love my kitchen!  When you walk into it, yoiu are faced with a peppery cayenne red wall, my favorite color, accented by camel colored walls to enhance the warmth.  I threw in splashes of green and gold accents for good measure.  The colors energize me - and remind me of my favorite foods - which include the spicy flair of India, Mexico, and Thailand.  I love to cook, so having a happy place, with warm surroundings really makes it a fun place for my family to gather.  I am a traditional girl when it comes to home decor with a little twist of French Country.  Roosters are a favorite icon -- I love their shape--fancy, and yet they are a thorwback to more simple times.  This new lines ties in all of these details, as it is a direct inspiration from my family kitchen.  It coordinates perfectly with my Sweet Tooth collection released last Summer.  You can use the papers to scrapbook about a favorite memory in the kitchen or you can use them to create special recipe box from our Bare Elements collection.  Whatever you do with this collection, it s my wish that it will become a favorite family heirloom to pass down to your family for generations to come.   C_20366C_20367C_20368 C_20369

Birthday Fun!

This project was designed by Creative Imaginations Art Director, Sonia Mara Adame. Here is what Sonia had to say about the inspiration behind her finished altered book.  One of my favorite lines coming out this Spring is Summer Fun by Helen Dardik.  I just love her bright color palette and whimsical illustrations.  I have been waiting for an occasion to use them, since it is not quite Summer yet.  I found the perfect opportunity with my Goddaughters recent birthday, two fun concerts plus a heatwave and it equals {pre} Summer fun!

The subjects are my Goddaughter, Krysti and her friend, Sarah.  I took them out for a birthday surprise to see my friends band, Half Past Two, play two outdoor concerts. {This band features Patrick, the son of fellow CI Art director, Carol O'Leary!}.  This outing made for a super fun and easy to finish project.  This is going in the mail tomorrow to the Birthday girl! I wish I could see her face when she opens it!

Making this happy BE Brook Peek A Boo Book was super easy! Don't be afraid to mix product lines when creating that perfect layout or altered book.  First I started with the new Helen Dardik Summer Fun Collection and discovered that the new Art Warehouse Cake and Candles Collection matched perfectly.  Same great color palette in two adorable collections equals a perfect creative opportunity!  Remember just because one collection has super graphic clean lines and one is more edgy does not mean that do not look great together!Copy_of_img_6148_2 Copy_of_img_6169Copy_of_img_6161
